Students from Ursuline College, Westgate-on-Sea, visit the Generalate

VISIT TO THE GENERALATE BY STUDENTS AND STAFF FROM THE URSULINE COLLEGE WESTGATE, ENGLAND

On Saturday 19th February on a beautiful sunny morning, a group of students, two teachers and their Principle arrived to visit us. They came from the Ursuline College in Westgate-on-sea in England and this is the school where Sr Alice worked before coming to Rome. It was a wonderful re-union.

They arrived in time to be welcomed by the Generalate community, some of the General Councillors and Mother Cecilia. They presented Mother Cecilia with a very unusual gift of a beautiful priest’s stole embroidered with an image of St Angela as pilgrim and ‘on the move’. This brought a spontaneous applause from all the sisters present!

Following this they had a short tour of the Generalate which included the terrace. As they are on a Geography trip, they stopped to take readings of air temperature and quality and will compare these with readings from near the Vatican and also Naples which will be their next stop.

It was a very joyful and wonderful morning.
